Overview
School Population
The school population has grown from 546 to 862 between last year and this year.
Candidates
In 2023 the school registered 32 candidates for K.C.P.E in comparison to the last two consecutive years that recorded 19 and 24 candidates respectively. We have 38 candidates taking Grade 6 KPSEA examinations.
Junior School
We have 32 learners in Grade 7 currently but expecting the number to grow tremendously with the launch of the Junior School Complex. All Junior School classes will take place in the new complex from January 8th 2024.
Students' Welfare
We care about the welfare of our pupils. Children are attended to at the clinic in the compound in case of ailment, we have a strong guidance and counseling department and ensure ‘ZERO’ cases of corporal punishment.
Games & Sports
Currently, our pupils go for sports at Drive-in Secondary and for swimming at Idealic owing to the availability of swimming coaches and life savers.
Clubs & Societies
The school introduced a number of clubs: Handwriting club, Cookery, Chess, Art, Debate, Mjadala, Spelling bee, Young farmers, drama, Soccer, Bible, Music and Dance.
Infrastructure
The school purchased Digital Television screens to facilitate learning in play classes and acquired new mattresses, mackintosh and mattress covers for the Baby classes.
Parent Engagement
Parent engagement is key at Cornerstone. Apart from academic clinics and parent meetings, the school introduced Mothers breakfast for the Play class children where we carryout team building between the Kindergarten teachers and parents.
PP2 Graduation
On Saturday, 14th September, our PP2 class graduated and were promoted to Grade1 in a colourful ceremony presided over by the Deputy Director ECD edu – Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development
School Transport
It gives our pupils comfort as they travel to school and back home the School bought 2 additional buses which were dedicated by Bishop Kimani on 7th of September 2023
Cornerstone Junior School
On Saturday, 30th of September we had the dedication and opening of Cornerstone Junior School complex at Mirema
