The school population has grown from 862 to 1,000 between last year and this year.
In 2025 we have 53 candidates taking Grade 6 KPSEA examinations. KPSEA is a formative assessment and contributes to guiding the learner’s transition to Junior Secondary School (Grades 7–9)
28 candidates taking Grade 9 Kenya Junior School Education Assessment (KJSEA) which marks the completion of Junior School (JS). After successful completion of the KJSEA, learners transition to Senior School (Grades 10–12) based on their interests, strengths, and performance.
Both of these assessments are by the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC).
We have a population of 119 currently but expecting the number to grow tremendously with the launch of the Junior School Complex. All Junior School classes will take place in the new complex from January 8th 2024.

Guidance and Counselling
We have a dedicated Guidance and Counselling team that offers emotional, social, and academic support to our students. Our goal is to walk alongside learners through the different stages of growth, helping them develop confidence, resilience, and strong character based on Christian values.
On-site School Clinic
Our on-site clinic is equipped to handle minor illnesses and first aid. A qualified health professional is available to attend to students who may fall ill during the school day, ensuring that they receive immediate care and comfort, while parents are contacted and updated during such cases. Our approach to student welfare ensures that every learner feels cared for, valued, and supported throughout their school journey.
At Cornerstone Academy and Junior School, we believe in nurturing the whole child—mind, body, and spirit. Our games and sports program is an integral part of our co-curricular activities, offering students a platform to build physical fitness, teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship.
We offer a variety of age-appropriate sporting activities including:

Our students actively participate in inter-school competitions and cluster-level events, helping them grow in confidence and skill.

The school introduced a number of clubs: Handwriting club, Cookery, Chess, Art, Debate, Mjadala, Spelling bee, Young farmers, drama, Soccer, Bible, Music and Dance.
At Cornerstone Academy and Junior School, we believe that a well-equipped learning environment is essential to support the delivery of the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC). Our school is purposefully designed to integrate modern technology and safety features that enhance both learning and holistic development.
Smart TVs in our Pre- Primary Classrooms:
Most of our Playschool-PP1 classrooms are fitted with Smart TVs, which are used as dynamic teaching aids. These screens allow teachers to project educational videos, interactive learning content. This visual approach not only enhances understanding but also keeps learners engaged and curious.
Wireless Internet Connectivity
The school is fully connected with a robust wireless network, enabling access to digital learning resources across all departments. This infrastructure supports research, innovation, and interactive assignments — all key components of the CBC framework, which values critical thinking and digital literacy.
CCTV Surveillance in Corridors and Common Areas
To ensure the safety and security of all students and staff, CCTV cameras have been installed in all corridors and key common areas. This promotes discipline and accountability while giving parents peace of mind that their children are in a secure learning environment.
Parent engagement is key at Cornerstone. Apart from academic clinics and parent meetings, the school introduced Mothers breakfast for the Play class children where we carryout team building between the Kindergarten teachers and parents.
On Saturday, 14th September, our PP2 class graduated and were promoted to Grade1 in a colourful ceremony presided over by the Deputy Director ECD edu – Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development
It gives our pupils comfort as they travel to school and back home the School bought 2 additional buses which were dedicated by Bishop Kimani on 7th of September 2023
On Saturday, 30th of September we had the dedication and opening of Cornerstone Junior School complex at Mirema
