Music and arts: Exploring Instruments and Talents
Our music program gives learners hands-on experience with a variety of instruments including the recorder, piano, guitar, trumpet, and more. Students are guided to discover and develop their musical talents, improving creativity, discipline, and confidence. Through practice and performance, we nurture a love for music while preparing learners for individual and group presentations.
Coding and Robotics
Our, learners enjoy hands-on coding and robotics classes through child-friendly tools like Scratch, Python, and robotics kits, students learn programming, build robots, and develop essential STEM skills. These sessions nurture creativity, problem-solving, and digital literacy—key aspects of 21st-century learning.
Games & Sports
We believe in nurturing the whole child—mind, body, and spirit. Our games and sports program is an integral part of our co-curricular activities, offering students a platform to build physical fitness, teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship.
We offer a variety of age-appropriate sporting activities including:
- Football (Soccer)
- Athletics (Track and Field)
- Netball
- Vollyeball
- Badminton
- Basketball
- Table Tennis
- Indoor Games such as chess, puzzles, and board games
Our students actively participate in inter-school competitions and cluster-level events, helping them grow in confidence and skill.

Clubs & Societies
At Cornerstone Academy and Junior School, we believe in nurturing well-rounded learners by offering diverse opportunities beyond the classroom. Our club program is designed to help learners discover and develop their talents, build confidence, and grow socially and emotionally.
We have introduced a variety of engaging clubs that cater to different interests and age groups:
- Handwriting Club – Focuses on improving penmanship through fun, guided activities.
- Cookery Club – Teaches basic cooking skills, nutrition awareness, and fosters teamwork.
- Chess Club – Develops strategic thinking, concentration, and patience.

- Debate & Mjadala Clubs – Enhance public speaking, critical thinking, and Swahili language skills.
- Spelling Bee Club – Boosts vocabulary, spelling accuracy, and language mastery.
- Young Farmers Club – Introduces basic agricultural practices and environmental stewardship.

- Drama Club – Encourages self-expression, teamwork, and confidence through performance.

These clubs meet regularly and are guided by passionate teachers who mentor students and help them shine in their areas of interest. At Cornerstone, we encourage every child to join at least one club to enrich their school experience and grow beyond academics.
Spiritual Life
At Cornerstone Academy, spiritual development is central to student life. We provide structured weekly pastoral services to nurture values, character, and faith:
- Monday & Tuesday: Pre-Grade (PG) to PP2
- Wednesday: Lower Primary (Grade 1–3)
- Friday: Upper Primary
These age-appropriate sessions include worship, Bible teachings, and discussions on values and life skills.
We also hold Cornerstone Sunday once every term, where students and teachers lead all Sunday services at church. This event builds confidence, leadership, and a strong sense of community.
Health and Wellbeing

Guidance and Counselling
We have a dedicated Guidance and Counselling team that offers emotional, social, and academic support to our students. Our goal is to walk alongside learners through the different stages of growth, helping them develop confidence, resilience, and strong character based on Christian values.
On-site School Clinic
Our on-site clinic is equipped to handle minor illnesses and first aid. A qualified health professional is available to attend to students who may fall ill during the school day, ensuring that they receive immediate care and comfort, while parents are contacted and updated during such cases. Our approach to student welfare ensures that every learner feels cared for, valued, and supported throughout their school journey.
Educational Trips
At Cornerstone Academy, we believe that learning extends beyond the classroom. Our educational trips are carefully planned to complement classroom instruction, offering real-world exposure and hands-on experiences.
Students visit museums, historical sites, farms, industries, and nature parks—bringing subjects like science, history, and geography to life. These trips foster curiosity, critical thinking, and appreciation of the world around them, while also encouraging teamwork and social interaction.
Educational trips are organized for all grade levels, ensuring age-appropriate learning and safety throughout.
Parent Engagement

Special programs like the Mothers’ Breakfast for Playgroup classes foster close interaction between parents and teachers through fun, team-building activities that strengthen community bonds.

Dining: Healthy & Delicious Choices Every Day
At Cornerstone Academy and Junior School, we provide balanced, nutritious meals daily in a clean, child-friendly environment. Our menu includes fresh fruits, vegetables, proteins, and whole grains, prepared by trained staff with high hygiene standards. We also teach learners healthy eating habits, supporting growth, focus, and overall well-being.
Transport
To ensure safe and reliable travel for our learners, Cornerstone Academy and Junior School offers a well-organized transport system with 3 school buses and 2 vans. Our vehicles operate on designated routes, providing daily pick-up and drop-off services. Each vehicle is staffed with a trained driver and an attendant to ensure student safety, punctuality, and comfort.
